Uttar Pradesh covers an area of 247,219 km2 (95,075 sq mi), making it the largest state by area in India, but separated from its eastern part. The state is bordered by Nepal on the north; Punjab and Haryana on the northwest; Uttarakhand State on the west; Bihar on the east; Chhattisgarh on the southeast; Madhya Pradesh on the south; Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir on its southwest corner.
